Greyhound for adoption: Jade

Jade is a ten year old greyhound girl looking for a new home where she can spend the rest of her life in peace and quiet.

Born December 2002, Jade was a racing greyhound and entered 36 races. Retired in April 2007 after her last race, she gave birth to a litter of 5 greyhound puppies in October 2007.  Two of her sons are in our care too, Dino and Frankie and are also looking for a new home.

Jade is a sweet and quiet greyhound girl who has learned not to expect too much from humans. Confined to outdoor kennels her entire life, she really enjoys her warm and dry indoor bed now. Jade likes short walks and needs somebody to help her explore all the things the world has to offer. Many things around the house are still new and she has not quite come out of her shell. Mind you she has only been in our care for 36 hours!

She is really good with other large dogs and has had no issues with other greyhound boys and girls, but needs some training around small dogs. In her defense, they usually come charging at her barking like mad and it is not really surprising that she barks and growls back!

Jade is currently in foster care in Melbourne and would really like a loving family where she can just spend her last years in peace and quiet. Apparently she comes from a line of females who all lived until they were 16.
